Škoda launching Octavia Green E line test fleet

Following on from last year’s concept version, Škoda is launching a test fleet of Octavia Green E line models.

Based on the Octavia Combi, the Octavia Green E line is Škoda’s first-ever vehicle with a 100% electric drive, which has a constant power of 60 kW and maximum output is 85 kW. 270 Nm of torque is available from the start. Power comes from a 26.5 kWh ion-lithium battery. A range of 150 kilometres is possible on a single charge.

Performance isn’t too bad, with the E line hitting 100 km/h (62 mph) in twelve seconds. Maximum speed is limited to 135 km/h (84 mph).

G-Power Typhoon for the facelifted BMW X5

Bayern-based BMW tuner, G-Power, has released its Typhoon kit for the facelifted X5 model. Constructed from high quality PU-rim, the pumped-up body focuses on those muscular front and rear wing extensions, and matching widened sill extensions. The X5’s face is given a more aggressive look thanks to the new front bumper, which features LED daytime running lights and large air intakes, and the vented carbon-fibre bonnet. At the rear there’s a new roof spoiler, substantial lower diffuser, and twin, central tailpipes, which finish off the company’s stainless steel high-performance exhaust system.

The new, bulbous arches house G-Power’s own Silverstone Edition forged wheels, sized 11×23-inches at the front and 12×23-inches at the rear.

G-Power offers a power upgrade for the xDrive48i model; after bolting its ASA T1- 522 supercharger to the 4.8L V8, and adding a larger capacity charge cooler, output jumps from 355 to 525 hp. That equates to a 0-62 mph time of just 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 170 mph.

Manhart Racing GmbH, the Geilenkirchen-based BMW tuner, is offering an optic and performance program for BMW’s superb 1 Series M Coupe. Visually, Manhart add black graphics to the car’s flanks and a rear diffuser that fits directly where the factory bumper insert resided. The company also adds its own 20-inch alloy wheels and suspension kit. A carbon front spoiler is in pre-production stage.

Thanks to the fitment of a new performance exhaust and reworking of the engine management the Baby M’s twin-turbocharged 6-cylinder unit enjoys a power hike from 340 PS (250 kW/335 hp) 420 PS (309 kW/414 hp).

Inside, the new MHR-embossed BMW Performance bucket seats, rear bench and even the dash board all receive a mixture of Alcantara and leather – with contrasting orange stitching.
