Whitby, Ontario. BMW Group Canada (BMW and MINI Brands combined) sold 3,531 vehicles in June 2009, down slightly by less than 1% compared to June 2008. Year-to-date sales for BMW Group Canada are 13,380 units, down 6% compared to the same period last year.
BMW Brand: Best month on record for BMW sales.

In the continuing development of BMW’s flagship 7 Series line, BMW today announced xDrive all-wheel drive versions of the 750i and 750Li. When combined with the previously announced V12-powered 760Li, the 7 Series range grows to five variants for model year 2010.

It was confirmed today that the BMW X1 is planned to debut in the United States in calendar year 2011. The X1 has been conceived with the flexibility to offer traditional rear-wheel drive and xDrive all-wheel drive configurations, as well as a wide variety of gasoline and diesel powertrain choices. In light of rapidly evolving US market demands, fuel prices, and regulatory standards, elements of the X1’s US launch plan, including engine and drivetrain configurations, will be forthcoming closer to the time of launch.

Jeremy Clarkson has been driving BMW’s new Z4 Roadster for the Times. The sDrive35i’s 3.0L, twin-turbocharged inline-6 produces 306bhp and 295lb-ft of torque helping it to 62mph in 5.2s before reaching a top speed of 155mph.

“This is not a car you can drive in cuff links. Because the centre console is set up for left-hand drive, every time you change gear your silver dog turd, or whatever, will hit the iDrive knob, which in extreme circumstances can cause the cabin to be filled with rap noises.”
