  • VATH MERCEDES-BENZ SLS AMG

Hösbach-based German tuner Vath has created a pretty neat visual and performance package for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Externally, the SLS receives a carbon hood, spoilers, diffuser fins and air intakes, while power-wise the 571 HP AMG V8 engine has two options: a 607 and a 626 HP upgrade. Both involve an ECU tweak and air filter, but the latter gets a new manifold, exhaust system and sports cat. Brakes and suspension are bulked up accordingly.

  • AUDI A1 1.6 TDI BY OETTINGER

Oettinger Performance GmbH is never a company to shy away from a little diesel engine tweaking, so it’s no surprise to see the legendary tuner turn its hand to the Audi A1. Offering upgrades for both common rail 1.6 TDI versions, Oettinger can provide you with an extra 20 HP; slicing around 0.6 seconds off the car’s 0-62 mph time and adding between 3-5 mph to its top speed.

The fabric-roofed version of the stunning gullwing-doored Coupe has near-identical performance to its tin-topped sibling, taking just 3.7 seconds to hit 60 mph, before topping out at (an electronically limited) 197 mph. Production, at the plant in Sindelfingen, will begin in the fall of 2011.

  • MEC Design Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

MEC Design is the latest tuninghouse to throw its hat in the ring when it comes to tweaking the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Externally there’s a roof scoop, sills, rear spoiler, bumpers and diffusor, while the suspension is hydraulic – and height adjustable – at the touch of a button. Interior modifications rely heavily on the presence of carbon, with the steering wheel, console, scuffplates and seating all receiving a coating. A stainless steel sports exhaust provides the symphony.
