Here’s an informative test from America’s Motor Trend, featuring the beautiful Audi A7 Sportback. It’s that 3L supercharged V6 powerplant that appears to take the guys by surprise; producing a relatively humble 310 hp, and even without the DSG transmission (which didn’t make it to America) the A7 manages to crack 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds and acheive a quarter mile time of 13.8 seconds. R18 TDI BENEFITS FROM AUDI CONNECT
Thanks to Audi connect, the Ingolstadt company’s road cars, such as the A8 and A7 Sportback, are capable of getting online. But, as far back as 2001, its Motorsport division has had similar systems operating on its race cars. Initially, basic information such as tyre pressures could be relayed to back to the pits, but fast-forward to 2011 and the cars can collect an amazing 16 Megabytes of data per lap, which helps the team to monitor everything from engine mapping to brake balance, before relaying instructions back to the driver, who can make corrections to the car’s setup via his steering wheel.[Source: Audi Motorsport]

MERCEDES-BENZ UNVEILS BUS OF THE FUTURE
Mercedes-Benz has created a bus based on its Citaro G model, as part of the European Bus System of the Future transport project that will be shown at the Bremen bus show from today. PORSCHE BOXSTER E PROTOTYPES ATTRACT POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS
The two Porsche Boxster E prototypes at the Michelin Challenge Bibendum in Berlin last week have proved to be a real smash with the public. At the forum for sustainable mobility, which was staged for the eleventh time this year, representatives from politics, industry, trade and research discussed the environmentally-friendly mobility and vehicle concepts of the future. The trips in the electric Boxsters were in particular demand amongst the expert audience.
