Understatement cannot be qualified as one of the advantageous features of VÄTH V58. This is considered to be the same as with SLK AMG R171. Not only the outside appearance of VÄTH V58 cannot be ignored, but also the SLK performance cannot be recognized under the motor hood.

This innovative, autonomously developed eight-cylinder power unit from Affalterbach sets new standards in terms of fuel consumption and exemplary efficiency: the new 2011 Mercedes S63 AMG, in which the V8 biturbo will have its market debut, consumes only 10.5 litres per 100 kilometres (NEDC combined consumption, provisional figure). This represents a saving of 25 percent compared to the current S63 AMG. An intelligently designed power transfer plays a major part in this: the unique AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission combines dynamism with economy, and includes a new start/stop function in the “Controlled Efficiency” driving mode. Nestled among the tributes to Hollywood’s brightest stars during the 82nd Annual Academy Awards will be a new Mercedes-Benz luminary, the S400 HYBRID. Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) will debut a new ad called “Tree of Innovation” which stars the S400 HYBRID and showcases the company’s expanding repertoire of environmentally oriented vehicles. The ad is the first to feature the new “voice” for MBUSA’s advertising, Jon Hamm, the Golden Globe winning star of the TV series Mad Men.

Stuttgart – smart’s worldwide design contest “Style your smart” implemented the “open innovation” approach in the car industry – with resounding success. More than 8,000 smart and design fans from more than 100 countries took part in the creative contest that ran for a period of around six weeks. On the website www.styleyoursmart.com entrants created more than 50,000 designs for the exterior of the smart fortwo. The winner with the most creative design is Tamir Shefer from Jaffa, Israel. He receives prize money of €1,500.

Kourosh Mansory puts a designer piece on wheels. The automobile refiner MANSORY turns the Mercedes-Benz G-class into a luxury vehicle class of its own in a limited edition of only seven cars. The car is based on the Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG and bears the name G-Couture. Only very few people will be able to enjoy this unique automobile. The edition is strictly limited to only seven cars.

The smart fortwo edition urbanstyle adds a whole new dimension to the iconic model’s reputation for being ‘big in the city’. Based on the 2010 passion model, the aggressively-styled edition urbanstyle will be limited to a UK production run of 230 coupé models – 160 units featuring the 71bhp (mhd)engine and 70 with the turbocharged 84bhp unit. At the Geneva Motor Show 2010 the BRABUS E V12 Coupe celebrates its world debut as the world’s fastest Gran Tourismo. Based on the new Mercedes E-Class coupe, BRABUS builds a luxurious 2+2- seater in small-series production. It is powered by a BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 800 twelve-cylinder displacement engine that produces 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW of power and a peak torque of 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft).

At the Geneva Motor Show in March Mercedes-Benz will be presenting two new models which see the premium brand from Stuttgart taking a great leap forward with regard to consumption and CO2 emissions. The new C 220 CDI now consumes a mere 4.5 litres per 100 kilometres – that’s 0.3 of a litre less than previously. This cuts its CO2 output from 127 g/km to 119 g/km. The E 250 CDI with an automatic transmission will require just 4.9 litres of diesel per 100 kilometres (129 g/km CO2) in future – as opposed to 5.8 litres currently (154 g/km CO2 – all provisional, combined figures).

STUTTGART – March 2, 2010: With the E 300 BlueTEC HYBRID being presented at the Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz is offering a look ahead to Western Europe’s first diesel hybrid. It pairs a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine developing 150 kW (204 hp) with a powerful hybrid module. Its 15 kW electric motor, positioned between the internal combustion engine and the 7-speed automatic transmission, assists the diesel engine when the car is accelerating (boost effect) and is used for the recuperation of braking energy in alternator mode, although it is also suitable for driving using electric power alone.

STUTTGART – March 2, 2010: Spring is in the air at this year’s Geneva Motor Show and invites visitors to the smart stand to take a break and recharge their batteries.
