Volkswagen Design Vision GTI
Following on from yesterday’s photographs, Volkswagen has released this moody trailer for its Design Vision GTI, which takes a large dollop of inspiration from Transformers.

Propelled by a twin-turbocharged 3.0 V6-TSI unit, developing 375 kW (503 hp) and a maximum torque figure of 560 Nm, the all-wheel drive Design Vision GTI rockets to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and enjoys a 300 km/h (186 mph) top speed.

We’d love to see this vehicle make it to production, even in very limited numbers. Unlike the insane, mid-engined GTI W12-650, which debuted at the 2007 Worthersee, the front-engined Design Vision GTI sits on the same MQB base as its road-going counterpart, meaning it would be much more straightforward to produce. Or, even better – they could build one that transforms…
