Following on from its program for the 2.0 TFSI-engined Beetle, Kempten-based VAG tuning specialist ABT Sportsline has released details of its upgrade for diesel owners.
Thanks to the company’s Power Kit conversion, output from the 2.0-litre TDI engine jumps from 103 kW (140 hp) and 320 Nm of torque to 125 kW (170 hp) and 370 Nm, enough to reduce the 0-100 km/h time from 9.4 seconds to 8.8 s. Other mechanical components include a rear muffler, lowering spring kit, 345 mm front brake disc conversion and a choice of alloy wheels ranging 18 to 20-inches in diameter.
Aesthetically, ABT can provide a lower front spoiler, headlight and tail-light covers, rear license plate insert and a diffuser section for the rear bumper with openings for the new oval tailpipes. Inside, there’s a leather/aluminium shift knob and embroidered floor mat set.
