Mercedes-Benz reveals S-Class Grand Edition

Mercedes-Benz has released a special version of the S-class to mark the outgoing of the current W221 model before the W222 arrives in 2012.

The S-Class Grand Edition has been given a sport theme thanks to the addition of an AMG styling kit, LED daytime running lights, 19-inch alloy wheels and larger, cross-drilled front brake discs – gripped by silver calipers.

Inside, the cabin is finished in wood trim with black ash inserts; there’s a leather steering wheel, stainless-steel pedals, AMG velour floor mats and the company’s multimedia system COMAND APS WCF navigation system.

Diesel powerplants available include the 204 hp 4-cylinder Biturbo S 250 CDI and the 258 hp V6 S 350 BlueTEC, while petrol fans get the option of a 306 hp S 350 BlueEFFICIENCY model or the new 429 hp 4.6L V8 unit.
