Car audio specialist MAGNAT has created a rolling showcase displaying its wares and expertise, based around a Porsche 911 GT3. The re-engineered interior, finished in Leather, Alcantara and high gloss paintwork, houses a 2,100 watts sound system driven by a Magnat Black Core 5 channel amplifier, and exiting through Magnat Selection series loud speakers, 1″ textile tweeters and a down-firing 10″ subwoofer.
Power upgrades come courtesy of Wimmer, consisting of a remapped ECU, and modified exhaust system – including racing cats, the RS step 3 Package gives the GT3 462 hp and a top speed of 317 km/h (197 m/h).

Visitors attending this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed will get an extra treat from Audi Tradition, after confirming that not one – but two Auto Union Silver Arrow cars will be present at the legendary event.
The cars’ drivers are pretty special too, with former F1 star Hans-Joachim Stuck there to pilot the car his father drove in his last race for Auto Union – an authentic replica of the 1939 Auto Union Type D twin-supercharger beast. Also in attendance will be Pink Floyd drummer, and former 24 Hours of Le Mans competitor, Nick Mason. A firm believer that cars – no matter how valuable – are meant to be driven, Mason will be in the Auto Union Type C in which took the European championship back in 1936, in the hands of Bernd Rosemeyer.
Triple Le Mans winning driver Marco Werner will be thrilling fans with something a little more modern – the R10 TDI; the car credited with making Audi the first brand to succeed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans – with a diesel-engined car.

After a relatively brief testing programme, Volkswagen’s Golf24 is ready to do battle at this weekend’s 24-hour race at the fabled Nürburgring.
Based loosely on the popular VW hatchback, the Golf24 bears little resemblance to its road-going namesake. Power comes from a 450 hp 2.5L five cylinder turbo unit, driving all four wheels via a sequential 6-speed transmission, shifted by flappy paddles.
Three cars have been prepared for the race, with some very familiar faces lined up to drive the beasts, including ex-F1 drivers Johnny Herbert and Mark Blundell, as well as ex-Porsche Supercup drivers René Rast and Nicki Thiim. Dakar winners Nasser Al-Attiyah, Carlos Sainz and Giniel de Villiers will also be taking part in the race, driving a 330 hp Scirocco GT24-CNG.
