Porsche have created a new centre in their quest for continued success in motorsport.
The building covers 10,550 square metres and employs a staff of 210 people. It contains workshops for race vehicle production, a terminal for trucks, development departments and an administration office block.
Head of Porsche Motorsport, Hartmut Kristen commented “The further increase in productivity, the highest possible flexibility and the optimisation of all processes determined the design and layout of the new buildings. In the last years the makes cups have grown enormously – in 2006 the series are contested in 18 countries on four continents. We manufacture up to 250 race cars per year here for the Cups as well as Gran Turismo and prototype racing. Now we enjoy an excellent situation and can continue to grow.â€
The workshops will be used for development as well as the servicing of customer vehicles, including cup cars and the awesome GT3 RSR.
Looks like we can expect more success from the Stuttgart legends.
