Scirocco To Be Produced In Portugal

Volkswagen have announced this week that the production of their newly resurrected Scirocco will take place in Setubal, Portugal.
The legendary Scirocco first appeared on our streets in the seventies, before being replaced by the Corrado model in the late eighties.
We can expect the new Scirocco to house similar powerplants to those found in the current ‘hotter’ Golf’s. Hopefully, rumours of a 300 bhp model will become a reality.
A company source has been quoted as saying that production would start in 2008 with an expected output of 100,000 units rolling off the line annually at their plant in Setubal, where production of the Eos and Sharan already takes place.
