Volkswagen has finally revealed the new Golf R Cabriolet, its fastest Cabriolet ever, with orders being taken from today.
Propulsion comes courtesy of VW’s 2.0-litre FSI engine, which develops 195 kW (265 hp) and 350 Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed DSG transmission, allowing a 0-100 km/h time of 6.4 seconds and a 250 km/h top speed.
Visually, the R sits 25 mm lower than standard and features 18-inch Talladega alloy wheels, gloss black mirrors and radiator grille, side skirts, aggressively-styled bumpers with large air intakes, twin tailpipes shrouded by a rear diffuser and a colour-matched boot lid spoiler.
Standard equipment consists of bi-xenon headlights, Climatronic air conditioning, aluminium sill plates, inlays and door trims, sports seats in Vienna leather, a leather multi-function steering wheel and stainless steel pedals.
Pricing starts at €43,325. Wow.
