    1_maca-turbo

Following on from the launch of its new Macan model, Porsche Germany has released a configurator allowing you to build your own.

Three versions of the stylish crossover will be offered at launch, beginning with the Macan S, which is propelled by a 3.0-litre V6 engine developing 250 kW (340 hp) 460 Nm of torque, enough for a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 5.4 seconds – or 5.2s when specified with the Sport Chrono package – and a top speed of 254 km/h (158 mph). The Macan S Diesel follows, with a 3.0-litre V6 unit producing 190 kW (258 hp) and 580 Nm, allowing 100 km/h to happen in 6.3 seconds (Sport Chrono: 6.1s) and a top speed of 226 km/h (140 mph).

Finally, there’s the flagship Macan Turbo. With a twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre powerplant churning out 294 kW (400 hp) and 550 Nm, 100 km/h is dispatched with in 4.8 seconds (Sport Chrono 4.6s) and top speed is 269 km/h (167 mph).

Our Macan Turbo would come in at €84.836, so it’s going to have to remain on Porsche’s website.

  • Lamborghini Veneno track footage

Following on from Lamborghini’s photo gallery of its Sesto Elemento and Veneno at Autodromo Di Vallelunga this weekend, Shmee150 has posted a video of the Veneno in action.

In attendance to celebrate the Super Trofeo World Final, this bonkers machine tips the scales at 1,450 kg – around 125 kg less than the Aventador it is based on. Beneath the engine cover there’s a massaged 6.5-litre V12, featuring enlarged intake paths, optimized thermodynamics and a modified exhaust system, which results in 552 kW (750 hp) being fed to all four wheels via a seven-speed ISR transmission. Once out of the pit lane, 100 km/h arrives in just 2.8 seconds with a maximum of 355 km/h (221 mph) possible.

Just three cars were produced, each carrying a price tag of €3.12 million, and all three were sold.

  • Lamborghini’s Sesto Elemento and Veneno hit the track

    1_lam-ven-ses
Lamborghini has released a handful of images showing its extreme Sesto Elemento and Veneno stretching their legs around Vallelunga prior to the Super Trofeo World Final this weekend.

The stripped-down Sesto Elemento tips the scales at just 999 kilograms and uses the 419 kW (570 hp) V10 engine and all-wheel-drive layout from the company’s 1,340 kg Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera. With a power-to-weight ratio of just 1.75 kilograms per hp, 100 km/h appears in just 2.5 seconds with top speed surpassing the 300 km/h mark.

The equally-nutty Veneno uses a revised version of the Aventador’s 6.5-litre V12, featuring enlarged intake paths, optimized thermodynamics and a modified exhaust system with lower back pressure. Developing 552 kW (750 hp) which sends power to all four wheels via a seven-speed ISR transmission, 100 km/h appears in just 2.8 seconds with top speed working out at 355 km/h (221 mph).

  • Mercedes G 63 AMG vs G 63 AMG 6×6

    1_mtgwag-70887
On this episode of Head 2 Head, Motor Trend’s Jonny Lieberman heads to Graz in Austria to compare the Mercedes G 63 AMG with its six-wheeled sibling.

Featuring a colossal 15.75 inches of ground clearance, the mammoth machine is propelled by the same 5.5-litre AMG V8 biturbo engine as the regular G 63 AMG, but this time the 400 kW (544 hp) and 760 Nn of torque is fed to an innovative 6×6 drive with central through-drive axle via the same AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission. Insanely exorbitant.

  • BMW M3 Cabriolet by Leib Engineering

    1_leib93-m3
Giessen-based tuning specialist Leib Engineering has revealed its latest project car based on the last BMW M3 Cabriolet.

Visually, Leib confirmed that the owner wanted to keep things understated. So understated that even the original M3 badges have been removed, while the factory alloys have made way for the 19-inch Y-spoke wheels usually found on the 1 Series M Coupe.

Things are a different matter under the bonnet with the introduction of a supercharger. Fitment of G-Power’s SK II CS compressor package, which comprises a belt-driven ASA T1- 523 unit, an additional fuel pump, optimized ECU software, sports air filters and a carbon/stainless induction air track, sees output from the 4.0-litre V8 engine rise from 309 kW (414 hp) and 400 Nm of torque to 449 kW (610 hp) and 590 Nm. A stainless steel exhaust with HJS 100-cell sports catalytic converters and variable valve was also added.

Finally, the chassis was upgraded with a stainless steel KW DDC coilover kit, which allows the driver to choose between Comfort, Sport and Sport+ modes via the M button on the steering wheel.
