Volkswagen of America has revealed the company’s new Passat Performance Concept ahead of its début in Detroit next week.
Visually the Concept features Bi-Xenon headlights, LED taillights, carbon-style mirror casings, dual exhaust tailpipes, revised electronic steering, lowered sports suspension and 19-inch Luxor alloy wheels, while the cabin receives a black headlining and carbonish elements on the dashboard and two-tone leather seats.
Beneath the hood, rather than that familiar 2.5-litre five-cylinder, there’s the turbocharged 1.8-litre TSI four-cylinder engine, currently seen in European models, which is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and develops a healthy 184 kW (250 hp).
