  • MTM Audi A6 3.0 BiTDI


    Wettstetten-based tuning specialist MTM has revealed its new program for Audi’s A6 3.0 BiTDI model.

    The company offers two options for the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre diesel engine, which produces 230 kW (309 hp) and 650 Nm of torque in standard form, both involving optimization of the ECU software. €1,700 gets you 272 kW (365 hp) and 760 Nm, but for just another €100 those figures rise to 284 kW (381 hp) and 780 Nm. Brake upgrades include a €4,900 upgrade kit consisting of 380 x 34 mm discs, stainless steel lines and eight-piston brake calipers, or the larger 405 x 36 mm versions, for €6,400, which require a minimum size of 20-inch wheels.

    Aesthetically, MTM offers a variety of alloy wheels, including the 9 x 20-inch Bimoto items pictured here, priced at € 5,230, while the F-Cantronic ECU (€ 1,740) for air suspension allows a drop of up to 25 mm.

  • Vorsteiner previews Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG


    Vorsteiner has released initial details and rendering of the its new program for the 415 kW (557 hp) CLS 63 AMG four-door Coupe.

    Available towards the end of summer 2012, the carbon fibre aero package includes a front spoiler, badgeless radiator grille, fender grille covers, side skirt panels, boot lid spoiler and vented rear diffuser section.

    A choice of wheels styles are available, ranging from 19 to 21-inch diameter, while the only performance upgrade is a sport exhaust in either stainless steel or titanium. for the interior, there’s a set of embroidered floor mats and trunk mats with coloured piping to match the car’s exterior.

  • Production-ready 918 Spyder spotted at private reveal party


    Following on from the recent official photographs showing Porsche’s 918 Spyder wearing Martini Racing livery, these images have now surfaced. The Spyder was unveiled at a private unveiling event at Canoe Studios in New York where the 918 RSR was also in attendance. A video of the party was posted to YouTube, then removed earlier today. But that didn’t stop the guys at Biser3a from grabbing a few screenshots.

    Unlike the car in last week’s pictures, this model has more stylish mirrors – reminiscent of the Carrera GT’s, rear reflectors and is missing the front fender vents, which leads us to believe it could be the street version. Or Strassenversion.

  • Golf GTI by BBM Motorsport


    Senden-based tuner BBM Motorsport has created this Golf GTI project car to give an example of the wares it provides.

    Beginning with the power upgrade, BBM tweaks the car’s ECU software and fits a REIL Performance stainless steel exhaust system with racing catalyst and Golf R style tailpipes, which sees output from the turbocharged four-cylinder engine rise from to 155 kW (210 hp) and 280 Nm of torque to 205 kW (275 hp) and 380 Nm. Other mechanical changes include a KW Clubsport suspension set-up and Stoptech front brake kit, consisting of 355×32 mm discs and four-piston monobloc calipers. The wheels are Corniche Challenge items, measuring 8×20-inches and wrapped in 235/30R20 tyres.

    Visually, Black Gold Designs supplied the carbon-finished hood, sill trims, rear diffuser and mirror casings, while the body was transformed by CFC Styling Station with a matte blue metallic foil wrap and stickerbombed fender and rear VW emblem. Interesting.

  • Prospeed Audi quattro at Verzegnis Hillclimb [video]


    Judging by the phenomenal feedback we received for the previous Prospeed video, we’re guessing you won’t mind another, right? This new footage shows the Sport quattro S1 clone in action at the recent Verzegnis Hillclimb round in Italy. We’ve enjoyed watching this car evolve over time, from a basic Audi Coupe bodyshell into this 800 hp behemoth. You can almost smell the eighties.

  • Volkswagen Beetle 2.0 TDI by ABT Sportsline


    Following on from its program for the 2.0 TFSI-engined Beetle, Kempten-based VAG tuning specialist ABT Sportsline has released details of its upgrade for diesel owners.

    Thanks to the company’s Power Kit conversion, output from the 2.0-litre TDI engine jumps from 103 kW (140 hp) and 320 Nm of torque to 125 kW (170 hp) and 370 Nm, enough to reduce the 0-100 km/h time from 9.4 seconds to 8.8 s. Other mechanical components include a rear muffler, lowering spring kit, 345 mm front brake disc conversion and a choice of alloy wheels ranging 18 to 20-inches in diameter.

    Aesthetically, ABT can provide a lower front spoiler, headlight and tail-light covers, rear license plate insert and a diffuser section for the rear bumper with openings for the new oval tailpipes. Inside, there’s a leather/aluminium shift knob and embroidered floor mat set.
