Rainer Zietlow and his team have captured yet another record after completing their non-stop journey from Melbourne to St. Petersburg.

Piloting a 165 kW (221 hp) 3-litre V6 TDI Clean Diesel Volkswagen Touareg, fitted with a roll-cage, additional fuel tank and GPS system allowing fans to keep track of his progress, Zietlow completed the ‘Russtralia’ route from the earth’s southernmost city to its northernmost counterpart in Russia, covering a total of almost 23,000 kilometres in just 17 days, 18 hours and 49 minutes.

“The car has brought its full performance despite the lower diesel quality in Asian countries,” said the jubilant off-road driver, who also confirmed that he is already planning his next adventure.
