Audi has scrapped plans for a high-performance TT RS sports car.
This summer, several European publications reported a range-topping model called the TT RS would debut in 2008 with a 300+ bhp five or six-cylinder engine. The decision to drop it was made in order to leave space for the R8 supercar.
It now looks like the recently introduced Audi’s TT S-Line package will be the sportiest version of the car.
They should just give the Lambo’s more power, then the R8 more power, then release the TT RS. Easy!

one with apple sauceisity?
You’re right, they need one with big hairy balls. Something that Rainier Wolfcastle would want to drive.
totally different market, the tt has always missed the ballbreaker in its range. the 3.2 @ 250ps, is nothing given todays high output models across more or less every manufacturers range. some of the lumps audi offer are cracking, there needs to be a hot tt, needs to lose the hairdresser image.
This is a shame. Why did they even get it to this stage? The R8’s based on a Lamborghini. I can’t see many people wanting to buy a TT instead of the R8?
