Here’s a video, which appears to have been recorded on a ten-year-old Nokia mobile phone, demonstrating the skills of a Greek driver as he manages to drift two BMW E30 3 Series at the same time. We’ve seen this attempted before, but the guy ended up being pinned to the road with a red-hot sump on his chest. It wasn’t as funny as it sounds.

Porsche 918 Spyder to start at $845,000
Porsche USA has officially revealed the pricing of the company’s forthcoming 918 Spyder model.Designated as a 2014 model, the 918 will start at 845,000 USD (€633,000) for the base model, rising up to 929,000 USD (€696,000) if you specify the Weissach Package. This track-focused version features such items as six-point harnesses, the carbon interior pack – including flappy paddles, flame-resistant material on the seats, deletion of the air-con system and stereo, front and rear dive planes, a lightweight braking system. It also includes foil on the body rather than paintwork, which makes up 2.5 kg of the 36 kg weight loss that the package brings.
Notable options include liquid metal paintwork for €47,600, magnesium wheels for €29,750, front axle lift system for €8,925, the quick charging system (reduces charging time from 2 hours to 0.5 hours) for €20,230 and the electric comfort heating system for €5,950, which heats the interior when the car is running in electric-only mode.
At the heart of the 1,160 kg Spyder is a 453 kW (608 hp) 4.6-litre V8 engine, which is backed up by a hybrid module at the rear along with a electric motor powering the front wheels. When using electric power alone, top speed is 150 km/h (93 mph) with a range of 25 kilometres achievable – depending on driving style but, with the full 661 kW (887 hp) a its disposal, 100 km/h appears in 2.8 seconds and 200 km/h in 7.9s, while top speed is 340 km/h (211 mph). All from a car capable of drinking around three litres of fuel every 100 kilometres.

CDC carbon fibre roof
Neuenmarkt engineering company CDC International GmbH has released images of its carbon fibre roof panel for the Volkswagen Golf V.Using F1 technology, CDC scans the top of the car with a 3D laser scanner in order to create a CNC-machined replica of the roof to form the new section on. An alternative to carbon-look foil wraps, customers can choose between three different styles of weave. Pricing starts at €899.
CDC also confirmed that it can produce the panels, which bond to the vehicle’s original roof, for any model.

G-Power BMW M3 RS aero upgrade
Bayern-based G-Power has released details of its RS aero program to suit the E92 BMW M3 Coupe.Constructed from carbon fibre, the package comprises of a front spoiler for increased downforce, a ventilated hood, boot lid and four-point adjustable rear wing which can also be substituted for BMW’s factory M3 GTS item. The hood and boot lid undercut the components they replace by 2.6 kg and 8.1 kg respectively.
Owners craving a performance upgrade can opt for one of the company’s new ‘Sporty Drive’ TU supercharger kits which feature a redesigned air intake and racing filter. The entry-level SK I option extracts 388 kW (520 hp) from the 4.0-litre V8, while the SK II package, which makes use of the ASA T1-523 ‘charger, allows an output of 433 kW (580 hp). The final SK II CS stage includes an additional fuel pump and optimized ECU software and nets you a imposing 455 kW (610 hp).

Volkswagen bus gets knitted sweater
Taking practicality to a whole new level, this VW Bulli has got its knitted sweater on for the winter.The idea for this project was thunk up by employees over at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, who appealed on the internet for knitters all around the world to assist them on their mission. Using up 250 kilometres of wool weighing in at 23 kg (50 pounds), the mammoth task took a total of 2,500 working hours to complete.
The colourful T3 is currently on display until the end of March at the Volkswagen Auto Museum, which is located in close proximity to Volkswagen’s Autostadt.

German aftermarket specialist Regula Exclusive has developed a new body program to suit the Porsche Panamera.Constructed from a high quality flexible polyester polyurethane mixture, the aero package comprises of a replacement front bumper with large air intakes, side skirts and a new rear bumper featuring air outlets and an integrated diffuser section. All components fasten to factory fixing points. Pricing starts at €7,594 with the all-carbon fibre version available for an additional €1,500.
Regula can offer a range of alloy wheel options, including the Schmidt Revolution CC-Line items pictured, which measure 10 and 11.5 x 22-inches in size.
Finally, owners of the Panamera Turbo model can choose the company’s performance upgrade. For €1,698 the remapped ECU software sees output from the 4.8-litre V8 rise from 368 kW (500 hp) and 700 Nm of torque to 451 kW (605 hp).
