Underground Racing Audi R8 GT

Underground Racing has revealed its latest project at this year’s SEMA show; an insanely-powered twin-turbocharged Audi R8 GT.

Already developing 412 kW (560 hp) from its 5.2-litre V10 engine, Underground Racing offers various options, beginning with its Stage 1 kit which releases 522 kW (700 hp) on pump gas and 746 kW (1,000 hp) on race fuel, while the Stage 2 version produces 634 kW (850 hp) and 895 kW (1,200 hp).

Things get really serious with the Stage 3 and Race Version kits. Both produce 746 kW (1,000 hp) if fed 93 octane, but when racing fuel is introduced the Stage 3 kit churns out 895 kW (1,200 hp) and the Race Version a maniacal 1,119 kW (1,500 hp).

This particular car, owned by regular customer Ray, features such goodies as race-spec cylinder heads, a billet race differential, quick shift and a MoTeC boost-by-gear system.

Visually, the R8 wears a matte body wrap and 19-inch HRE Carbon Series CF43 wheels wrapped in Nitto Invo tyres.
