It looks as though BMW will be naming their estate Mini, the Clubman.
The long wheelbase version of the smash hit hatchback was initially thought to have been given the ‘Traveller’ label, but apparently that would “require BMW to navigate a minefield of copyrights”, so instead they’ve opted for the ‘Clubman’ name, harking back to the square fronted Mini from the 1970’s.
Supposedly, the point of the ‘Clubman’ is to cater for owners requiring more boot and passenger space.
Surely, if they’re enlarging a Mini, then it’s no longer a ‘Mini’.
They should call them the BMW ‘Midi’. Or perhaps just ‘Ugly’?
