Audi Unveil Their S3 Quattro

Audi have announced details of the new ‘sportier and quicker’ S3.
The new S3 will be pulled along by their 2.0 TFSI powerplant, described by Audi as “aggressively hard-hitting, free-revving and with a sonorous acoustic profile”, but all you need to know is that it pushes out a handy 261 bhp providing a 0-62 mph time of 5.7 seconds and onto a limited 155 mph top speed.
Power is transmitted to the Quattro drivetrain by a close-ratio manual six speed gearbox. The electronically controlled multi-plate clutch, sends the torque to the most useful corners of the car.
On the chassis side of things, the stiffer springs and shock absorbers drop the car 25 mm lower than the standard A3. Audi stated, “Due to the innately sophisticated suspension of the A3 – with subframes front and rear, triangulated lower wishbones at the front and four-link suspension at the rear, the S3 responds immediately to steering movements and achieves high cornering speeds”.
Inside, you’ll find a flat bottom leather steering wheel, folding bucket seats, Bose sound system, universal Ipod and phone connections and a lap timer function.
Due out at the beginning of 2007.

very dissapointing.
looks like a bodykitted a3, nothing muscular, low on power, too expensive.
why introduce an S model at 261bhp whne you already produce a 3.2 with 250?! not good enough i am afraid. was really hoping for 300 brake.
save some dough, buy a used 3.2 as residuals are poor, stick an exhaust and a remap on, and wind the window down…VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!
