Buchloe-based Alpina has released details of its D3 Bi-Turbo based on BMW’s current 3 Series Saloon and Touring.
Propulsion comes from a twin-turbocharged straight-six 3.0 litre diesel engine, which delivers 257 kW (350 hp) and 700 Nm of torque to the road via a 8-speed SWITCH-TRONIC sport-automatic transmission. Performance is impressive with 100 km/h arriving in just 4.6 seconds and top speed a tasty 278 km/h (173 mph). Also remarkable is the car’s fuel consumption, which averages out at 5.3 litres (Touring 5.4) every 100 kilometres with a CO2 figure of 139 g/km.
Standard equipment include Alpina’s adaptive sport suspension, 19-inch Classic alloy wheels, Xenon headlights, front and rear spoilers and rear valance with quadruple tailpipes. Moving inside past the embossed sill plates, there’s a SWITCH-TRONIC leather steering wheel with multi-function, burled elm trim and front sports seats.
Pricing starts at €46,975 for the Saloon and €48,487 for the Touring, which is also available with all-wheel-drive from €51,429.
