Alpina reveals B6 Bi-turbo Convertible

ALPINA has revealed its B6 Bi-Turbo Convertible program, which gives the BMW 6 Series some serious clout. Powered by a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 unit similar to the one found in BMW’s new F10 M5, the B6 has slightly less power, at 507hp (373kW), but a higher torque figure of of 700Nm. Those horses are transferred to the road via an eight-speed automatic gearbox, resulting in a 0-100km/h (62 mph) of just 4.8 seconds, and a missile-like top speed of 311km/h (193 mph). The B6 also benefits from a new high-performance titanium exhaust, jointly-developed with Akrapovic, it’s half of the weight of a stainless steel version.

Visually, Alpina adds a front spoiler with the integrated splitter constructed from carbon fibre, while around the rear there’s a subtle boot lid spoiler and lower valance complete with diffuser. The look is completed with the addition of the company’s timeless ‘Classic’ lightweight wheels in 20-inch diameter.
