  • Accuair’s Audi S4 reviewed

    Accuair Audi S4
In this latest episode of The Smoking Tire, Matt Farah takes a look at a car equipped with air ride suspension.

In the past, air ride has been viewed as a modification reserved for owners of mini trucks, show cars and low riders who crave that ground-skimming stance but also like to avoid replacing their oil sump every few days. With today’s systems becoming evermore refined, Matt decided it was time to sample Accuair’s Audi S4 to see how it handled on the limit.

  • Will the Lamborghini Aventador jump?

    Lamborghini Aventador
They may regret it after seeing this video, but the people at Lamborghini recently lent Autocar an Aventador Coupe and Aventador Roadster, which lead the magazine to wonder: What could be done with a pair of 700 hp hypercars that hadn’t been done before?

The apparent brains behind this operation, Steve Sutcliffe, booked a private test track and slo-mo camera crew before carrying out a few preposterous challenges designed to compare the differences between these two vehicles. Firstly, will they both jump, and if so how high, how far and how differently?

  • Petrolicious looks at the purity of Porsche’s 911 2.7 RS

    Porsche 911 2.7 RS
This new offering from Petrolicious sees Jonathan Segal describing what the 1973 Porsche 911 2.7 RS meant to Porsche and its drivers.

Being a respected architect, Jonathan’s pursuit for purity in the structures he creates clearly transfers to other areas of his life, including his studio and garage. And when you hear him talking about his love for the ‘minimum essence’ in buildings, it’s easy to see how his pursuit of purity has lead him to this stunning Signal Yellow RS model.

Compared with a standard 911S, the hardcore Carrera RS 2.7 had a larger flat-six unit developing 150 kW (210 hp) with Bosch MFI, stiffened suspension, larger brakes, wider rear fenders housing wider wheels, and that iconic a ‘ducktail’ rear spoiler. Thanks to the utilization of thinner glass and thin-gauge steel on parts of the bodyshell, the Lightweight variant undercut its Touring counterpart by 115 kg at 960 kg.

  • Sean Edwards dies following crash in Australia

    Sean Edwards
Sean Edwards, the Porsche Carrera Cup and Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup driver, has been killed in a tragic accident today during a private driving training session at Australia’s Queensland Raceway.

The 26-year-old was in the passenger seat as an instructor when the Porsche 996 GT3 left the track and hit a tyre wall. The son of ex-Formula One driver Guy Edwards, Sean was a supremely bright talent who became champion in the FIA GT3 European Championship and has competed in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup since 2008, and in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland since 2010.

Sean won the Nurburgring 24 Hours earlier this year and is currently leading the Supercup series by 18 points after victories at Barcelona, Monaco and the Hungaroring, meaning he could still win the title posthumously.

We’ve added one of our very favourite Sean Edwards videos below from on board his 997 GT3 Cup car during a very wet Porsche Carrera World Cup race at the Nurburgring.

Our deepest condolences go out to Sean’s family and friends at this truly horrendous time.
