  • Wide-track Porsche Cayenne by Project Kahn

Following on from its wide-track Audi Q7 and Porsche Panamera, Bradford-based tuninghouse Project Kahn has developed a similar program for the Cayenne SUV.

Externally, the Cayenne wears a subtle wide arch kit consisting of vented extensions with extra pieces wrapping around the front and rear bumpers. The face receives a set of vertically-mounted LED daytime running lights, while at the back there’s a lower tailgate spoiler which reminds us a little of the ducktail items seen on older 911s. Red brake calipers hide behind the company’s own 22-inch RS600 alloy wheels, and a lowering spring kit provides the required ride height. The only performance upgrade is a stainless steel sports exhaust with quadruple tailpipes.

Moving inside the cabin, Kahn reupholsters the seats and arm rest, using a mixture of red and black perforated leather finished with diamond stitching. The dial faces of the speedometer and rev counter have also been replaced to match.

  • Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe 5.7 Edition by Wheelsandmore

Baesweiler-based tuninghouse Wheelsandmore has revealed its program for the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe, named the 5.7 Edition.

Thanks to optimized engine electronics, new air filters, a pair of 4-1 manifolds and complete stainless steel exhaust system with variable flap, output from the 6.2-Litre V8 rises from 341 kW (457 hp) and 600 Nm (443 lb/ft) of torque up to 425 kW (570 hp) and 690 Nm (509 lb/ft), allowing a new top speed of 320 km/h (198 mph).

Visually, Wheelsandmore applies a nondescript stripe to car’s body, along with a set of its multi-piece 6Sporz² forged wheels. Sized 9 and 10.5 x 20-inches and wrapped in 235/30 and 275/25 Dunlop Sportmaxx GT tyres, the centres are matte black while the rims are painted grey to match the brake calipers. • Jost Capito takes charge of Volkswagen Motorsport

Jost Capito is to take charge of Volkswagen Motorsport from May 1 this year, replacing current Managing Director Kris Nissen who will support the Group during the transitional period before going on to take an advisory role.

Defecting from Ford Motor Company USA after spending over ten years there in the performance vehicles and motorsport division, Capito brings with him a wealth of experience, including Formula One with Sauber Petronas and Sauber Red Bull and development work for high-performance BMW engines. It doesn’t end there; not only was he Porsche’s Head of Carrera Cup Organisation but also a co-driver and winner of the iconic Paris-Dakar Rally. If that CV doesn’t impress you, your second name is probably Brawn.

Paying tribute to the outgoing chief, Volkswagen’s Dr Ulrich Hackenberg said: “Mr Nissen has advanced Volkswagen Motorsport in a major way. He has made a crucial contribution, for instance, to Volkswagen having scored a one-two victory at the 2009 Dakar Rally and making motorsport history with the one-two-three victories at the Dakar Rally in 2010 and 2011.”

  • Mansory Lamborghini Aventador

Brand-based German tuning company Mansory has created a Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 program for those people who feel that the car is perhaps a little too discreet and, with 515 kW (700 hp) and 690 Nm (509 lb/ft) of torque, a smidgeon underpowered.

Visually, Mansory fits its carbon fibre aero package, which adds 40 mm to the front and 50 mm on the rear of the Aventador, includes an apron with optimised air intakes and splitter, a replacement bonnet and fenders and sill extensions. At the rear there’s a new apron with integrated diffuser and enlarged wing. The roof and engine cover elements and mirror casings complete the kit. Filling the arches is a set of ultralight forged rims featuring carbon fibre inlays. These are sized 9 x 20 and 13 x 21-inches and covered in VA 255/30 ZR20 and HA 345/25 ZR21 tyres.

Inside, leather has been used to reupholster everything from the seats, dashboard and centre console, while carbon fibre has again been utilized for trim pieces on the instrument binnacle, switch surrounds, steering wheel and console.

A little engine management tweaking and a new exhaust system helps to release 555 kW (744 hp) and 750 Nm (553 lb/ft); enough to allow a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time of just 2.8 seconds and 355 km/h (220 mph) top speed.
