    1_grant-546706
Mercedes-Benz has released a new video documenting the process involved when it came to making the Vision Gran Turismo.

Designed for the new PlayStation 3 racing game Gran Turismo 6, the low-slung Vision Gran Turismo utilizes an aluminium spaceframe body along with components in carbon fibre, meaning it tips the scales at only 1385 kilograms. Under the bonnet there’s a front-mid-mounted AMG V8 biturbo engine delivering 430 kW (585 hp) and 800 Nm of torque.

With the SLS AMG about to be sent to a retirement home, Mercedes could really make a statement with a halo model such as this standing above the forthcoming S 63 AMG Coupe.

  • Audi Q1 confirmed

    1_q1-tsr
Audi has confirmed that it will begin producing the forthcoming Q1 compact SUV at its Ingolstadt factory from 2016.

No details of the vehicle were released, but the accompanying rendering shows a steroidal A1-type body with blistered arches and rugged all-terrain look. Essentially a Volkswagen CrossPolo in an expensive suit, the Q1 is expected to use such engines as an entry-level 63 kW (86 hp) 1.2 TFSI, 90 kW (122 hp) 1.4 TFSI and 77 kW (105 hp) 1.6 TDI. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a range-topping SQ1 variant with a 2.0 TFSI unit sending 188 kW (256 hp) to all four wheels.

“The Audi Q1 is part of our broad-based SUV strategy. It is designed on the basis of the modular transverse engine concept and will round off our Q series at the bottom end,” said Audi Chairman Rupert Stadler.
