  • DMC Aventador LP900 SV

DMC Aventador LP900 SV Limited Edition
Duesseldorf tuner DMC has revealed its LP900 SV Limited Edition program for the Lamborghini Aventador.

Constructed entirely from carbon fibre, just ten examples will be manufactured with DMC hand-picking the customers – who must already own an Aventador fitted with the company’s Molto Veloce kit.

The SV package retains the Molto Veloce’s side skirts and raised rear wing, but the front bumper takes inspiration from Lamborghini’s sharp-nosed J Concept Roadster and features large air scoops with central fixing braces and winglets on the outer edges. The equally-grandiose rear bumper wears a revised diffuser with an opening beneath the custom tailpipes.

The performance upgrade sees DMC ditch the factory injection system in favour of 12 separate single intake throttle plates, uprated fuel pumps and nozzles and optimized ECU software. The 6.5-litre V12 is topped off with a titanium exhaust system that tips the scales at just 3.45 kg, resulting in an output of 671 kW (900 hp).

  • 2013 BMW M6 Gran Coupe

    2013 BMW M6 Gran Coupe
BMW has officially revealed details and images of its new M6 Gran Coupe.

Designed to take on the popular Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG and Audi’s forthcoming RS 7, the M6 Gran Coupe builds on the regular 6 Series Gran Coupe with an aggressive front bumper featuring large air intakes and lip spoiler, a CFRP (carbon fibre-reinforced plastic) roof panel, flared wheel arches housing 20-inch five-spoke M alloys, wider side skirts and a rear apron with CFRP diffuser and quadruple tailpipes.

Power comes from the same source as its M6 Coupe counterpart, namely a 4.4-litre biturbo V8 engine developing 412 kW (560 hp) and 680 Nm of torque at its disposal, meaning a 0-100 km/h time of 4.2 seconds. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) or 305 km/h (189 mph) with the M Driver’s Package added, while average fuel consumption works out at 9.9 litres every 100 kilometres. Gears are changed via BMW’s seven-speed M Double Clutch system, which sends power to the rear wheels via an Active M Differential.

Inside, there are M sports seats, an M-specific instrument cluster and Head-Up Display, while the steering wheel-mounted M Drive buttons allow configuration of the car’s engine responses, steering mapping, shift program, DSC stability control and damper settings. Merino leather upholstery comes as standard, while the roof lining is trimmed in Alcantara with a leather centre section.

Due to be launched in May 2013, pricing will start at €128.800, with optional extras including the carbon-ceramic brakes upgrade, M multifunction seats, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, 4-zone climate control, ‘soft close’ automatic doors and a Bang & Olufsen surround sound system.
