  • G-Power BMW M5 Hurricane RRs

Even though G-Power, the Bayern-based BMW tuning specialist, has begun offering a program for the new BMW M5, it’s nice to know that the company is still developing its predecessor, the E60, as this Hurricane RRs proves.

This particular model has been built to mark the 100th delivery of the regular 800 hp Hurricane RR and has a little more to shout about. Starting with that glorious 5.0-litre V10, G-Power fitted uprated connecting rods along with low compression MAHLE pistons, before adding its BI-Kompressor “Sporty Drive” system which uses a pair of larger ASA T1-316 supercharger units, each one feeding intercooled air to a bank of cylinders. An additional high capacity fuel pump, larger injectors and stainless steel exhausts system with racing cats were also added. Now running using an Alpha-N management system, the M5 produces an elephantine 610 kW (830 hp) and 780 Nm (575 lb/ft) of torque, which sees an increased top speed in excess of 372 km/h (231 mph) but the same 0-100 km/h time of 3.4 seconds. Still, not too shabby for a two ton saloon car.

Chassis upgrades consist of a fully adjustable coilover suspension set-up and brake upgrade that uses six- and four-piston calipers along with 396 mm and 380 mm discs. G-Power can also provide a carbon ceramic option, which offers superior fading resistance, but will make your wallet weep. Finally, the factory rims have made way for the company’s 19-inch, ten-double spoke Silverstone Diamond wheels, wrapped in 255/35 ZR and 305/30 ZR Michelin Pilot Sport rubber.

  • SEAT Mii FR line previewed

In keeping with other brands within the Volkswagen Group, SEAT will be taking a few cars to this year’s Wörtherseetour party in Austria, including this Mii FR line model.

Adding a little attitude to the humble Mii citycar, SEAT has set out to give the up!-based baby its own identity. Sitting on a set of black 16-inch alloy wheels, sporty additions to the Tornado Red body include black accents on the wheel arches, flanks and tailgate, a subtle roof spoiler and diffuser section on the rear bumper. And, just in case you forget where you are, the bold theme continues inside the cabin with the dashboard and seats receiving gargantuan FR line logos.

“The Mii is a group product so it does not have 100 per cent SEAT DNA. This is one way of giving it that DNA,” said SEAT’s marketing boss, Ulf Eberhardt.
