Abt Sportline have created a package to give the latest Golf GTI some extra momentum.
Power from the 2.0 FSI unit is increased to 240 bhp thanks to a remapped management system and a specially developed Abt turbo-charger. This equates to a 6.4 second wait for 62 mph, and a top speed of 152 mph.
In the looks department, the GTI VS4-R receives an aerodymanic package comprising of a front spoiler with carbon lip, chunky side skirts, roof spoiler and a rear valance with openings for the quadruple tail pipes on the new silencers.
It would have been rude of the Kempten based tuner, if they hadn’t upgraded the chassis, so the car now sits 40 mm lower, on stiffer suspension to handle the twisty stuff that little bit better.
The rollers are upgraded to Abt’s very own 19 inch diamond-machined SP1 alloy wheels, which have been lovingly wrapped in Dunlop SP SportMaxx rubber.
Interior add-ons include a new steering wheel, aluminium gear knob and Abt logo’d mats (but don’t look down to admire them while you’re doing 150 mph – not good).
