Following on from evo magazine’s diary footage, Audi has released this official video featuring its limited edition 188 kW (256 hp) A1 quattro in action on a frozen Swedish lake. Just 333 units are to be built with Audi UK recently setting its price at £ 41,020. We would love to see a version of this car competing in the WRC.

G-Power BMW M5 revealed
Following on from last year’s sneak preview, G-Power, the Bayern-based BMW tuning specialist, has officially revealed its program for the F10M M5.Adding its own G-POWER Bi-Tronik III software to the car, G-Power takes the turbocharged 4.4 V8’s output from 418 kW (560 hp) and 680 Nm (502 lb/ft) of torque to a more appetising 477 kW (640 hp) and 777 Nm (573 lb/ft). That translates to a new 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time of just 3.9 seconds, while 0-200 km/h takes a mere 11.9 seconds. G-Power also fits its ‘Deeptone’ stainless steel rear muffler with twin-double tailpipes.
Keeping that extra power in check is an adjustable GM5-RS coilover suspension kit which features nine selectable settings for both bound and rebound, while the company’s brake upgrade system consists of six-piston calips, larger surface pads and 396 mm ceramic brake discs providing minimum fade at high temparatures. The wheels are G-Power’s 21 inch Silverstone RS items, covered in 265/30 and 305/25 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres.
G-Power promises more power for the M5, hinting that development of its M5 Hurricane II program is in ‘full force’ and that it may just eclipse the awesome 597 kW (800 hp) M5 Hurricane RR. Scary stuff.

Wheelsandmore Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Silver Wing
Tuning specialist Wheelsandmore has released a new program for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, named Silver Wing.The car’s power upgrade involves Wheelsandmore remapping the 6.2 V8’s electronics after adding a stainless steel sports exhaust system with remotely-operated valve flaps. This sees output jump from 420 kW (571 hp) and 650 Nm (479 lb/ft) to a healthier 467 kW (635 hp) and 710 Nm (524 lb/ft).
Chassis tweaks come in the form of an ultralight aluminium coilover suspension kit which features adjustable rebound and compression, while those three-piece matte black 6Sporz² wheels, sized 9.5 x 20 and 11 x 21 inches, are wrapped in 265/30/20 and 295/25/21 Continental Sport tyres.

We’ve seen several reviews of Audi’s A1 quattro, but this is the first video to reach us. Hardly an extensive test, this snippet of footage from evo magazine shows the limited edition 188 kW (256 hp) hatchback on a frozen lake in Sweden. Just 333 versions of this little all-wheel drive beastie will be available to buy when it goes on sale later this year. -
Porsche teases Macan SUV
Porsche has released scant details, a rendering and promo video teasing its brand new compact SUV, the Macan.The Stuttgart auto manufacturer is creating 1,000 additional jobs and investing € 500 million to expand its Leipzig plant in readiness for the Macan’s production which will begin next year.
Its Macan tag originates from the Indonesian word for tiger and – according to Porsche – perfectly describes the attributes of its new off-roader, namely: suppleness, power, fascination and dynamics. Rumours that it crashes into fire hydrants and cheats on its wife are totally untrue.
