  • Porsche 991 Turbo and Turbo S Cabriolet revealed

    Porsche 991 Turbo Cabriolet
Porsche has released details of its new 911 Turbo and turbo S Cabriolet models ahead of their public unveiling in Los Angeles on November 20.

Sharing the same powerplant as the Coupe; namely a turbocharged 3.8-litre flat-six engine developing 520 hp (383 kW) and 560 hp (412 kW) respectively, gears are switched via the seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, which sends power to a new all-wheel drive system (PTM) utilizing an electronically controlled and activated multi-plate clutch that directs more torque to the front wheels when necessary.

The Turbo cracks 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, while the Turbo S takes 3.2s, with both capable of achieving a top speed of 318 mph (197 mph). If you’re interested, average fuel consumption on both cars stands at 9.9 litres per 100 kilometres with CO2 emissions of 231 g/km, which represents an improvement of up to 15 percent compared to its predecessor.

The Cabriolet roof system, which uses a lightweight magnesium frame with a Coupe-like arch that offers aerodynamic advantages, opens and closes in around 13 seconds, at speeds of up to 50 km/h.

Due to be launched in Germany this December, pricing starts at €174,431 for the Turbo and €207,989 for the Turbo S.
