  • Kicherer creates the C63 T Supersport

Stockach-based tuning house, Kicherer, has just released details of its C63 T Supersport program for the C 63 AMG Estate. The C63T Supersport package sees the 6.2 L V8 powerplant receive an ECU tweak and stainless steel sports exhaust, resulting in 403 Kw (540 hp) and 640 Nm (472 lb-ft) of torque – up from 336 kW (457 hp) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft). The 0-100 km/h time drops from 4.5 to 4.2 seconds, while the limiter is removed to allow a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).

There’s also an adjustable PowerConverter for the accelerator, which eliminates the delay that can be expercienced in electronic fly-by-wire pedal systems.

Visually, Kicherer adds its aero kit – which is constructed from carbon fibre, consisting of a front skirt with integrated flaps, replacement grille, sill extensions, mirror covers and diffuser. The wheels are Kicherer’s three-piece RS-1 items in a 20-inch diameter.

Inside, the high-speed Estate is treated to an Alcantara rooflining and dashboard, with the seats coated in nappa leather, with contrasting piano varnished shells.

  • CAR magazine: BMW 1 Series M Coupe vs Porsche Cayman R

CAR magazine compares two cars with pretty similar statistics, but perhaps designed to cater for two different demographics: The 340 bhp BMW 1 Series M Coupe and Porsche’s 330 bhp Cayman R model. Both hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in a whisker under 5 seconds, but the BMW is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph), while the Porsche keeps going until 282 km/h (175 mph). (more…)

  • Volkswagen enforces car-sharing amongst employees

We jest, of course. Sixteen employees, fifteen women and one man, from Volkswagen’s Communications department have just managed to shoehorn themselves inside a new up! model, setting a new unofficial world record in the process.

Designed to carry four occupants in comfort, this baby city car accommodated two in the boot, one on the dashboard, seven on the back seat, four on the front seats, and two in the footwells, before all the doors and windows were closed.

Back in January 2001, 27 students from Pennsylvania State University, in the United States, crammed into a New Beetle. Claustrophobic much?

  • Bentley Continental GT Audentia

Following on from its special one-off creation, Edinburgh-based styling specialist, Imperium, has come up with another program for Bentley’s Continental GT model, and named it Audentia – a Latin word, meaning boldness and courage.

Limited to just 50 units, the Audentia package gives the GT a more aggressive, angular appearance thanks to those purposeful-looking bumpers, front splitter, side skirts, neat boot lid spoiler and bold rear diffuser, which compliments the new tailpipes.

The transformation can be specified in either PU-RIM plastic or carbon fibre, with prices starting at £ 25,000 ($ 39,400) and takes 6-8 weeks to complete.

  • ‘Hellboy’ Porsche Panamera S by edo competition

Ahlen-based tuning specialist, edo competition, has created Hellboy, a program for Porsche’s Panamera S model.

Thanks to an ECU tweak and new (35 kg lighter) stainless steel exhaust with high-performance catalytic converters, power from the naturally aspirated V8 is taken from 294 kW (400 hp) to 342 kW (465 hp), with 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque being available from 3,300 rpm. That hike results in a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time of 4.6 seconds, 0-200 km/h (124 mph) in 16.5 s, a quarter mile time of 12.2 s and top speed of 308 km/h (191 mph).

Visually, edo adds its carbon fibre aero kit which consists of a front skirt featuring daytime running lights and more substantial air intakes, sill extensions, mirrors, front wing vents, a finned rear skirt with integrated diffuser and a ducktail-style rear spoiler, which is a nod to the ones seen on 1970s Carrera RS models, but – and this is just our opinion – because it’s so small, and has rounded-off corners, reminds us of a BMW 6 Series (E63) rump. There, we said it.

The ultra-lightweight, one-piece forged alloy wheels measure 9.5 and 11 x 21 inches and are wrapped in Michelin rubber. An electronic lowering module drops the Panamera’s ride height by around 30 mm.

Inside, edo can offer anything from a simple carbon fibre shifter, console, a sports steering wheel or aluminium pedal set to a completely reupholstered cabin, in any material. Just don’t forget your wallet.
