  • Macau GT Cup accident

  • Wimmer RS Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG

Renowned for creating some heavy-hitting machinery, Wimmer Racing GmbH in Solingen has developed a tuning program for the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG.

Already producing a healthy 336 kW (457 hp) and 601 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque from its 6.2 L V8 as standard, Wimmer reworks the cylinder heads and adds a pair of sports camshafts, as well as a K&N air filter. A stainless steel manifold and high-flow cats from HJS is connected to the Wimmer exhaust system, which has adjustable noise levels. Those modifications, along with the accompanying ECU remap, result in 442 kW (601 hp) and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque, and a 329 km/h (204 mph) top speed. That extra power comes with a € 19,900 price tag.

Lurking behind those 19-inch BBS CH Black Edition alloys, hides a set of serious stoppers. Priced at € 22,000, the MOV’IT-ceramic brake system consists of 380×40 mm front discs gripped by 6-piston brake calipers, and 362×28 mm rears with 4-piston calipers. The KW Clubsport coilover suspension kit (€ 2,600) allows that perfect set-up for track visits.

With its vivid vinyl wrap (€ 2,975) in place, the ‘Green-Blue Eliminator’ will be on display at this year’s Essen Motor Show which begins next week. You won’t miss it…

  • Audi A5 by JMS Tuning

Walddorfhäslach-based JMS Tuning has unveiled a collection of components for Audi’s A5 and S5 models, that it names the Racelook kit.

The front lip (€ 269) is designed to fit to the underside of S line specification bumpers on the Coupé, Convertible and Sportback versions with glue and screws, while around the rear, the diffuser (€ 259) is a direct replacement for the factory insert. Providing the symphony is a stainless steel performance exhaust from Eisenmann which culminates in a pair of double oval tailpipes (€ 1,725).

The H&R suspension kit (€ 1,750), which was manufactured with input from JMS, drops the A5 40 mm closer to the road, while the varianza TS1 alloy wheels, sized 9.5 and 10×20-inch and wrapped in 255/30 tyres (€ 4,500), complete the look.
