  • DRIVE samples the McLaren F1 GTR

DRIVE’s Chris Harris recently experienced something most of us spent our school days dreaming about. No, not that… he actually managed to hitch a ride in the epic McLaren F1 GTR. Powered by that glorious 600 hp, quad-cam, 48-valve BMW V12 engine, the GTR made its racing debut in 1995 and won ten out of the twelve races in the BRP Karcher Global Endurance GT Series. It also tasted victory at the iconic Le Mans 24 hour race in the same year. (more…)

evo magazine’s Henry Catchpole sets out to see if the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster is as good as its gullwing-doored sibling.

Using the same delicious 6.2 L V8 engine, this 420 kW (571 hp) convertible takes just 3.7 seconds to crack 100 km/h (62 mph), while top speed is 318 km/h (197 mph). Turn your speakers up and get ready to dribble. (more…)

  • FAB Design Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet

FAB Design has unveiled its widebody program for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet.

At the rear there’s a carbon fibre boot lid spoiler, while the vented apron features an integrated diffuser which frames those twin oval tailpipes. (more…)

  • Sportec Audi RS 3

Sportec, the Swiss tuning specialist, has created a range of upgrades for the mental Audi RS 3 Sportback.

Already packing 250 kw (340 hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb/ft) of torque, Sportec offers a remapped ECU, which takes the 2.5 TFSI’s output to 304 kW (408 hp) and 550 Nm (406 lb/ft) – or 373 kW (500 hp) for owners lucky enough to live outside Switzerland.

Other components include a full stainless steel exhaust system, Bilstein adjustable coilover suspension kit, while those muscular arches are filled out by Sportec’s familiar Mono/10 light alloy wheels in a 20-inch diameter.

Finally, to keep the power in check, owners can opt for a MOV’IT big brake conversion and Haldex Performance Controller.
