This new video from DRIVE sees Chris Harris not only sample the brand new Mercedes-Benz SL 500, but also looks at this popular Roadster’s heritage, from the infinitely alluring W198 300 SL to the Pagoda W113 and the classic R107, which was produced from 1971 through 1989, making it the longest single series ever manufactured by the company.

Walter Rohrl returning to Pikes Peak
Legendary driver Walter Rohrl will relive his Pikes Peak success from 25 years ago when he returns to the iconic event in the U.S. state of Colorado on July 8 this year.Motorsport fans will be able to witness the Rally Driver of the Century behind the wheel of the original 441 kW (591 hp) Audi Sport quattro S1 that took him to victory on the Race to the Clouds a quarter of a century ago, in a time of 10 minutes and 48 seconds. And that was when it was still an unpaved dirt road.
Obviously, Rohrl won’t be competing this time, but you can guarantee that he won’t hang around as he tackles the 150 curves covering almost 20 kilometres, culminating at the 4,301 metre summit.

Skoda Yeti Urban
Skoda UK is offering a selection of extras at no increased cost on its limited edition Yeti Urban.Only available in two-wheel-drive with manual transmission, the Yeti Urban can be ordered in Steel Grey metallic, Black Magic pearl effect, Candy White or Brilliant Silver metallic paintwork, while engine choices are limited to the 77 kW (104 hp) 1.2-litre TSI petrol and 81 kW (108 hp) 2.0-litre TDI CR diesel unit.
Based on the SE trim level, the Urban features up to £ 2,450 worth of extras, including 17-inch ‘Matterhorn’ alloys in black and chrome, wheel arch extensions, chrome side strips, roof stripes, silver roof rails and door mirror caps. Moving inside, the rear gets sunset glass, while customers can choose either red or black sports seats.
Optional accessories include stainless steel pedals, sports exhaust trim and a portable DVD player with twin 9-inch screens.
Limited to just 750 vehicles, the Yeti Urban goes on sale next month at an OTR price of £ 16,900 for the petrol version and £ 18,330 for the diesel.

Vorsteiner GTRS3 BMW M3 by Wheels Boutique
Miami-based Wheels Boutique has revealed its latest project based on BMW’s E93 M3.The M3 Convertible is no wallflower in factory form, but the owner of this model clearly wants to remove any possibility of being ignored. To make this happen, the guys at Wheels Boutique have fitted Vorsteiner’s extreme GTRS3 aero kit. Constructed from carbon fibre, the body program includes wide front fenders, side skirts, rear arch extensions and a replacement boot lid. Other components include a new front bumper with larger air intakes and an integrated spoiler, a vented rear bumper and aggressive hood.
Filling those cartoon-like arches is a set of Vorsteiner’s VS-350 Forged Concave wheels, which are sized 10.5 and 12.5 X 20-inches and wrapped in 285/25 and 325/25 Michelin PS2 tyres.
