  • Special Volkswagen California Edition


    Volkswagen Germany has released images and details of the new California Edition before it makes its official début at next month’s Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf.

    Bearing more than a passing resemblence to the Caravelle Edition 25, the California Edition is available in Candy White, Salsa Red or Reflex Silver and features matte black detailing on the roof rails, B-pillars, door handles, the lower section of the front bumper, side skirts and tailgate. Fog lights, privacy glass and special anthracite-coloured 17-inch alloys complete the look.

    Equipment includes a stove, sink, bed extension with comfort sleeping pad, two swivel seats with lumbar support, lane change assistant and a multi-function leather steering wheel.

    Due to go on sale this autumn, engine options include a 2.0 TSI ranging from 110 kW (148 hp) to 150 kW (201 hp), while diesel fans get a wider choice, consisting of a 2.0 TDI producing between 75 kW (101 hp) and 132 kW (177 hp), with a 84 kW (113 hp) and 103 kW (138 hp) Bluemotion variant also available. Prices will start at €42,370 for the California Beach Edition, with the California Comfortline Edition weighing in at €56,287.

  • Vorsteiner Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe


    Following on from renderings earlier in the year, tuning specialist Vorsteiner has officially unveiled its new program for Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe owners looking for a little more aggression.

    Constructed from carbon fibre, the aero package includes a Black Series-esque lower front spoiler and side skirts, radiator grille, fender louvre covers, daytime running light housings and vented rear diffuser. All parts are clear-coated apart from the replacement boot lid with integrated spoiler.

    Vorsteiner also offers a wide range of 19 and 20-inch forged alloy wheels as well as its performance exhaust system in either titanium or stainless steel. Inside, there’s a set of embroidered floor and trunk mats. Knock yourself out.

  • Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee promos


    Here’s a pair of promos for funnyman Jerry Seinfeld’s new show, called Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, which premieres online next Thursday at 9 pm. The video series will feature Porschephile Seinfeld along with several of his friends, including Larry David, Ricky Gervais, and Alec Baldwin – in cars… You get the idea.

    Lets hope Jerry delves into his collection and dusts off that 959 of his. We’re really looking forward to this show, it should be pretty good. Well, it can’t be any worse than The Marriage Ref, can it? Not possible.

  • Vorsteiner BMW M3 GTS5


    Tuning specialist Vorsteiner has developed the GTS5 bumper to suit BMW’s current M3 range.

    Limited to a production run of just 88 units, the aggressive replacement bumper is constructed from pre-preg carbon fibre and features similar styling to the company’s GTS3 item but with accentuated eyebrows over the vents. There are also extra vertical venting on the edges, which serve as a functional air flow for brake cooling, while the clear-coated lower spoiler is detachable for when you run a cat over and splinters from it skull cause irrepairable damage.

  • Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG by Wimmer


    Solingen-based tuning specialist Wimmer Rennsporttechnik has revealed its current program for the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG.

    Already producing an impressive 336 kW (457 hp) from its 6.2 L V8 in factory form, Wimmer upgrades the cylinder heads and adds a pair of sport camshafts, along with a modified throttle body, optimized intake manifolds and K&N air filter. Hand-crafted manifolds and high-flow sport catalysts from HJS are connected to the stainless steel exhaust system, which features an adjustable valve. Those modifications, along with a remmapped ECU, result in a healthy 459 kW (615 hp).

    Other changes to this C 63 AMG Wagon include a set of 19-inch BBS CH Black Edition alloys, H&R spacers and a KW Clubsport coilover suspension kit, while the body has been covered in a retina-offending ‘electrical yellow’ wrap.

  • AC Schnitzer ACS6 Gran Coupe


    Aachen-based tuning specialist AC Schnitzer has released its ACS6 program for BMW’s 6 Series Gran Coupe model.

    Visually, the Gran Coupe wears an aero package consisting of a front spoiler, a lower chromed front grille, additional chrome strip and skirt extension for the rear bumper with apertures to house the tailpipes of the replacement silencer. Other changes include a lowering spring kit and a choice of wheels, including the familiar Type IV and the Type VIII Racing and Type VIII Forged rims pictured here, which measure 9 and 10 x 21-inches in size. Moving inside, there’s the company’s ‘Black Line’ aluminium cover for the iDrive controller, aluminium pedals, velour floor mats and the EVO 3 sports steering wheel.

    Performance upgrades see the power in the 640d rise from 233 kW (313 hp) to 268 kW (360 hp), while its petrol-engined counterpart, the 640i, goes from 239 kW (320 hp) to 268 kW (360 hp). An eight-piston brake caliper kit can also be purchased.
