  • Mercedes-Benz SL-Class by MEC Design

Berlin-based tuning specialist MEC Design has released details of its options for the R231 SL-Class model by Mercedes-Benz.

Visually, this SL 550 version wears a pair of AMG-style bumpers and is fitted with a new exhaust system culminating in quadruple trapezoidal tailpipes, with flap control allowing a choice of two acoustic levels: ‘Daytona’ and ‘Earthquake’.

The two-door grand tourer is brought closer to the ground thanks to MEC’s Electronic Lowering System (ELS) module, which can provide a drop of around 55 mm, while a set of the company’s three-piece mecxtreme I alloy wheels, measuring 10 and 12 x 20-inches and wrapped in 255/30ZR20 and 305/25ZR20 Continental tyres, complete the look.

  • 720 hp BMW M3 Coupe by G-Power

Aresing-based tuning specialist G-Power has released these images of a customer’s E92 BMW M3 Coupe, with a nice surprise beneath its hood.

The owner wanted a substantial increase in power, so opted for the Tornado RS conversion, which sees the 4.0-litre V8 taken apart and reconstructed with a new crankshaft and Mahle pistons, taking its displacement up from 4.0 to 4.6-litres.

The company’s SK III ASA T1-723 supercharger kit was then added, along with a carbon fibre air box and titanium exhaust system, resulting in a monumental 537 kW (720 hp). Those changes produce a 0-100 km/h time of just 3.7 seconds and a new top speed of 330 km/h (205.5 mph). Other upgrades include a Clubsport adjustable coilover kit and G-Power’s 20-inch Silverstone Diamond alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin rubber.

Visually, the M3 Coupe wears a lower front spoiler, and a replacement bonnet and boot lid constructed from carbon fibre.
