  • Volkswagen Golf TDI by Superchips

Buckingham-based tuning specialist Superchips has released details of its program for the Volkswagen Golf VI TDI.

Thanks to the company’s ECU software upgrade, power from the 1.6 TDI is raised from 77 kW (104 hp) to 109 kW (146 hp), but the torque figure is more impressive. An admirable 70 Nm improvement takes output up to 307 Nm, meaning it even eclipses the mighty Golf R’s 350 Nm.

The conversion is available for cars with either the 5-speed manual or 7-speed DSG transmission built from 2009 onwards, including the Bluemotion model, at a price of £455.
