The group of cars invited along to London City Airport, to see if they could grab a spot in the record books, included a Porsche 911 Turbo, BMW M6, Shelby Daytona Cobra, Corvette Z06 and Ford’s GT.

The new ‘mild’ hybrid S Class from Mercedes will be primarily a petrol driven vehicle, with an electric motor kicking in to provide extra power when needed.
Porsche have announced details of the 997 Targa 4 and 4S versions.
The 4 is driven along by a 325 bhp 3.6L flat six, making for a 0-60 mph time of 5.3 seconds. Next up is the 4S, with a 355 bhp endowed 3.8L unit, equating to a 4.9 second sprint to 60 mph. The power kit option takes things upto 388 bhp.
