  • Chinese man builds himself a Lamborghini Reventon


    This farmer’s son and budding sportscar company owner, 28-year-old Wang Jian from Jiangsu province, found that his wallet couldn’t quite stretch to a genuine Lamborghini Reventon – so he decided to build his own. Kind of.

    With a budget of just $10,000, Wang has replicated the V12 hypercar with sheet metal, a Volkswagen chassis and a Nissan van engine. Deemed illegal to drive on public roads, the Lambovolkswaghini is primarily used to move fertilizer around for his dad. So it smells as good as it looks.

  • Mercedes-Benz SL-Class by MEC Design


    Berlin-based tuning specialist MEC Design has released details of its options for the R231 SL-Class model by Mercedes-Benz.

    Visually, this SL 550 version wears a pair of AMG-style bumpers and is fitted with a new exhaust system culminating in quadruple trapezoidal tailpipes, with flap control allowing a choice of two acoustic levels: ‘Daytona’ and ‘Earthquake’.

    The two-door grand tourer is brought closer to the ground thanks to MEC’s Electronic Lowering System (ELS) module, which can provide a drop of around 55 mm, while a set of the company’s three-piece mecxtreme I alloy wheels, measuring 10 and 12 x 20-inches and wrapped in 255/30ZR20 and 305/25ZR20 Continental tyres, complete the look.
