This weekend, the SEAT Sport team is travelling to the fourth season event with high spirits after successfully participating at the gruelling Cheste circuit, where they confirmed their leadership in the World Championship, and is ready to challenge the difficult urban track in Pau, France, where the SEAT León TDI has yet to be proven. The objective is the same as in Valencia – stay well in the lead in both the drivers’ and manufacturers’ titles.

The new SEAT Ibiza received an excellent rating after the stringent crash tests organised by the prestigious Euro NCAP organisation – 5 stars in passenger protection, 4 stars in child safety and 3 stars in pedestrian protection. Jason Plato gave the SEAT Sport UK Leon TDI its third win in six HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship races after a characteristically never-give-in performance at Thruxton. He bounced back from scoring zero points in Race 1 to net maximum points in Race 3 - scoring his 40th BTCC race win and eclipsing 2000 career points in the process. Darren Turner finished 6th and 4th in the first two races, but a puncture whilst in 3rd position on the notoriously abrasive Hampshire track spoilt what would have been a superb hat-trick of race results.

The SEAT León TDI has achieved its first two victories at the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), and is also the first Diesel powered car to win in the 50 years’ history of the championship, one of the world’s most prestigious events. Jason Plato and Darren Turner won two of the three races held today at the Donington track, for two podiums and a new fastest-lap record.
