Stuttgart. Introducing two new models, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, are rounding off their range of dynamic mid-engined sports cars at the top. The two new models, the Porsche Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 and the Cayman S Sport, develop 303 bhp (223 kW) from 3.4 litres, eight horsepower more than the respective S models.

PORSCHE RS SPYDER TO RECEIVE DFI

Stuttgart. After the road-going Porsche Cayenne and 911, now the sports prototype RS Spyder profits from direct fuel injection technology (DFI). The new engine, with which Porsche underlines its role as technology leader in energy efficiency, celebrated its race premiere with a victory in the American Le Mans Series: On the demanding Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Timo Bernhard (Germany) and Romain Dumas (France) won the LMP2 class.

PORSCHE DEUTSCHLAND EXPANDS MANAGING BOARD

Stuttgart. Robust growth at Porsche Deutschland GmbH, Bietigheim-Bissingen, also requires expanded capacities in management. The Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG Executive Board has therefore appointed Karsten Sohns (42) as the subsidiary’s Chief Financial Officer. From August 1, 2008, he will be responsible for the Finance, Controlling and IT divisions.

According to the guys at Cartribe; this is the forthcoming Porsche Cayman S Sport. Apart from the 997 GT3 RS-inspired appearance you get a whopping 10mm suspension drop along with an eye watering 8bhp increase to 303bhp. Porsche Active Stability Management also makes it onto the model. Price is rumoured to be around £49,890.

PORSCHE 998 MULE SPOTTED

Hot on the heels of the newly facelifted 997 range; Porsche is already working on its replacement - the 998. The meaty arch extensions hint at a slightly wider track for the new model, while the rear wing is also a makeshift item. Rumours suggest that lightweight materials may be utilized. Autoblog reckon it’ll be here by 2010, but we think that’s a little optimistic. Time will tell.
