In honour of the world premiere of the MINI Countryman in Geneva, MINI staged a guerilla campaign called MINIWOOD. The city of Geneva was the scene of a multifaceted initiative to celebrate the birth of a new “star,” culminating in a hyper-dimensional projection of “MINIWOOD” (twice as high as the Hollywood sign) onto the mountain cliff facing the city.

Munich. MINI has chosen the 2010 Geneva International Motor Show to launch an all-new, world-first in-car entertainment solution: MINI Connected. Through intelligent connectivity between the driver, his MINI and the outside world, MINI Connected offers new options for further enhancing the hallmark driving fun associated with the brand. Some of these new possibilities will be presented in Geneva. MINI Connected will be launched simultaneously with the MINI Countryman, as an optional specification.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 17 — MINI E cars equipped with a new generation of electric cabin heaters from BorgWarner BERU Systems are currently being tested in rental vehicles in the United States, Great Britain, Germany and other countries. Unlike diesel- or gasoline-powered vehicles, electric vehicles generate virtually no waste heat, and the battery does not radiate enough heat to warm the interior or defrost the windshield.

This contest is held under the auspices of the German Ministry of Economics and Technology.
