Stuttgart – Mercedes-Benz builds the world’s most desirable coupes – a claim which the Stuttgart-based car maker is underlining at the 2008 Paris Motor Show with its ConceptFASCINATION design study.
Mercedes-Benz is set to launch a completely new diesel engine generation starting in the autumn of 2008. For its world premiere, the Stuttgart-based car manufacturer will unveil a C-Class model with this new four-cylinder engine. In the C 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Prime Edition, this engine produces, with its 2.2 litres of displacement, 150 kW / 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque.
Just little more than two years after opening its doors, the Mercedes-Benz Museum today received its 2,000,000th visitor. Michael Bock, managing director of Mercedes-Benz Museum GmbH, was on hand to extend a warm welcome to the happy milestone visitor, Christoph Ludwig, who had travelled from Munich together with his children Timo and Jakob. The surprised customer was presented with a book on the Mercedes-Benz Museum and was subsequently invited to a three-course meal in the museum restaurant.

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton went eight points clear as Raikkonen put his Ferrari into a wall at Blanchimont corner on the penultimate lap at a wet Spa-Francorchamps today. Felipe Massa took second place, with BMW Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld’s taking the final podium position. Full results below.

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported August sales of 18,507 new vehicles, an 11.8 percent decrease compared to August 2007. On a year-to-date basis, MBUSA continued to outpace its 2007 performance with sales of 158,519 new vehicles (versus 157,806).
Hambach – Today, the one millionth smart fortwo rolled off the production line at the plant in Hambach, France - a micro hybrid drive (mhd) in the passion equipment line. On the occasion of the production anniversary and the tenth birthday of the smart brand Daimler presented the new smart electric drive. In Hambach Dr. Dieter Zetsche, President and CEO of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars said “The smart electric drive makes zero emission driving in an urban environment a reality.”

A review of the last eight Mercedes?Benz Classic Days reveals the ongoing success story of the event. Mercedes?Benz organised the first edition of Mercedes?Benz Classic Days in 2000. The event was an overwhelming success, as 400 classic car fans from 20 countries descended upon the historic city on the River Salzach to attend the world premiere with more than 200 vintage Mercedes?Benz vehicles.
