BMW CANADA SURPASSES 3,000 MONTHLY UNIT SALES FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER

Whitby, Ontario. BMW Group Canada (BMW and MINI Brands combined) sold 3,531 vehicles in June 2009, down slightly by less than 1% compared to June 2008. Year-to-date sales for BMW Group Canada are 13,380 units, down 6% compared to the same period last year.
BMW Brand: Best month on record for BMW sales.

The BMW brand retailed 3,003 units in June, breaking the 3,000 unit threshold for the first time ever. June sales were up 2% compared to June 2008. Year-to-date, 11,391 BMWs have been retailed, a decrease of 4% compared to the same period last year.

New products like the BMW Z4 and 7 Series led the way in sales increases for June. Sales of the new BMW Z4 roadster with a retractable hardtop roof were up 283% in June compared to sales of the previous generation Z4 last June. The new flagship BMW 7 Series sedan sales were up 88% in June compared to June 2008.

MINI Brand.

In June, 528 MINIs were sold, down 15% compared to June 2008. Year to date, 1,989 MINIs have been sold, down 15% compared to the same period in 2008.

BMW Motorrad: Record June motorcycle sales.

BMW Motorrad Canada set a June sales record of 242 units, up 18% compared to June 2008. Year-to-date, sales are up 25% to 1,171 units compared to the same period last year.

Pre-Owned: Best June on record.

BMW Certified Pre-Owned sales were up 11% in June to 758 units, setting a June sales record. Total BMW Pre-Owned sales also set a new June sales record with sales up 10% to 933 units in June.

Year-to-date, BMW Certified Series Pre-Owned sales are up 26% to 4,436 units compared to the same period last year. Total BMW Pre-Owned sales are up 23%, with 5,252 units sold.
