PUNE, INDIA – March 31, 2009: Škoda Auto is extending the scope of its Indian-based production. Together with Volkswagen, the company has today officially opened a new joint manufacturing plant in Pune, India. Starting one year earlier than planned, the local production of the Škoda Fabia will now start in May 2009.

INGOLSTADT, GERMANY – March 30, 2009: Audi is the preferred car maker among builders and trade contractors in Germany. The brand was the readers’ first choice in both categories for a German-made “Executive Station Wagon of 2009”, as surveyed in the trade publications Deutsche Handwerks Zeitung and Handwerk Magazin. While the Audi A4 Avant took the laurels in the standard-size category, the Audi A6 Avant prevailed in the full-size category. Altogether 29 station wagon models were considered.
