KTM X-BOW SELECTED FOR THE RACE OF CHAMPIONS

The “Race of Champions” (13th and 14th of December 2008) is the crowning finale of the motorsport year, bringing together some of the world’s best racing drivers to go head-to-head at the wheel of a variety of cars.

KTM are delighted that the X-Bow will be one of the cars driven by motor racing legends Michael Schumacher, Sebastien Loeb, Tom Kristensen or Mattias Ekström, in this year’s event.

Ahead of the public show at Wembley Arena this December, organisers Michelle Mouton and Fredrik Johnsson took a closer look at the minimalist Austrian sportscar at the press conference today.

“The X-Bow is an exciting new sportscar, it looks completely unlike anything else”, explained Fredrik Johnsson, President of ROC organiser IMP: “I’m particularly delighted to welcome KTM to our event, as I think being able to actually see the drivers at work will add a new element to The Race of Champions.”

But not only the organisers were impressed – also present Formula 1 and Touring Car stars David Coulthard, Mark Webber, Jenson Button and Andy Priaulx were enthusiastic about the X-Bow. David Coulthard: “This is really an ingenious car concept, that additionally looks absolutely stunning – I hardly can’t wait to get behind the wheel in December.”

At the young Austrian car manufacturer, the CEO of the KTM Sportcar division, Mr. Werner Wilhelm, was happy about the decision of the ROC organisers: “The worlds best drivers at the world best race meeting – this is the Race of Champions. To be a part in such an event is what we at KTM mean with “Ready to race” as our company slogan. We believe that the X-Bow will provide a lot of fun for drivers and fans!”
