JIMMY UNDERHILL SECURES POLE POSITION FOR THE FIRST TIME AT IOWA SPEEDWAY

NEWTON, Iowa – Jimmy Underhill, Denver, Colo., completed qualifying today for the Jetta TDI Cup race with a fastest lap time of :52.411 to secure his first time on the pole position for today’s 5:45 p.m. race at Iowa Speedway.
Underhill, 21, has consistently placed in the top of the field with appearances on the podium three times, twice in third and once in second, and is currently ranked eighth in the series. He will compete against 28 other amateur drivers in the fifth race of the clean diesel series’ inaugural season.
“I had some troubles on the very first lap and just barely grazed the wall but I was able to get back on track,” said Underhill. “I got my head back into it and pulled off the pole position which is really awesome. I’d like to thank Volkswagen and Rent2race.com.”
