The vehicles that meet the terms and conditions of the said public tender include the Fabia, the Fabia Combi, the Octavia and the Octavia Combi with three types of engine. One of the priorities in selecting the vehicle specifications was active & passive safety and occupants’ comfort (electronic stabilisation programme, front, side & overhead airbags, air-conditioning, etc.). Skoda Auto is going to supply the Octavia models with a special “police” specification, including a new colour design. The terms and conditions of the public tender also include technical equipment for as many as 14 Policie ?R maintenance points and appropriate staff training.

Policie Ceské republiky and Skoda Auto are planning to sign the agreement by the end of June.

“We are very pleased to have won this public tender, not only because it is a big contract, but also because the Czech police are going to stick to Czech vehicles,” said Jan Procházka, Skoda Auto Sales Manager in the Czech Republic.

Skoda vehicles are used by police also in other countries, including Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary and Great Britain.
