BMW M3 SALOON REVIEWED

Andrew Frankel has been driving BMW’s M3 Saloon for The Sunday Times. The all-new 2008 M3 Saloon and M3 Coupe that arrived in spring 2008 feature the first V8 in a series-production BMW M3. They also feature driver-adjustable settings for crucial dynamic controls including steering, damping and stability and a sumptuous interior that can be optimized to a driver’s desires.

“While it weighs more and has less performance than the coupé, if you can sense the 55lb difference in a corner, or the 0.1sec dropped in the sprint from 0-62mph, you have a backside of astonishing sensitivity. Indeed I suspect it’s all window dressing and that BMW is merely pretending the saloon is a smidge slower than the coupé to justify the latter’s continued existence at a price £1,415 higher than the identically equipped saloon.”
